Pangolins are shy and sensitive mammals and are highly endangered as a result of trafficking and when threatened, they curl up into a ball where their scales protect them. We wanted to create a piece that spoke of the fragility of our wildlife and we felt the Pangolin spoke strongly of this message strong on the outside but yet so vulnerable.
